Licensing¶
The ControlGuard Engine requires a valid license to operate. An active license must be uploaded during the installation process for the engine to activate and start properly.
Laws & Regulation¶
The software elements within our products contain capabilities, such as strong cryptographic algorithms, which may fall under various national or regional regulatory constraints and controls. It is the responsibility of the purchaser to verify that the use of such elements are permissible in their jurisdiction before completing a license purchase.
License File¶
Valid License Required
The ControlGuard Engine requires a valid and active license to run and to accept remote connections. Certain components, such as the connector, do not require a license and can be operated without any restrictions.
Use of Strong Cryptography
To protect our software against attacks, unauthorized copies and modifications, we employ sophisticated, dynamically evolving protection mechanisms that rely on strong cryptographic algorithms.
Before operating the ControlGuard vX Engine, ensure that your license is ready at hand. License files corresponding to your active subscription plan can be downloaded directly from your account dashboard. Upon execution, the engine loads the license file, which includes your unique license key and the enabled feature-set.
Online Activation¶
Remote activation may be required—particularly for new installations—thus requiring an active internet connection. This remote activation process is only necessary once; subsequents executions won't require internet connectivity.
